Candomble, a spiritualist religion with roots in African religions and influence from Roman Catholicism, originated in Brazil. It involves the worship of multiple deities, called Orishas, and practices involving trance, dancing, drumming, and other rituals. It is also call Macumba in some areas. It is sometimes likened to Voodoo and/or Santeria.
