Diaspora (dispersion) refers to several events of Jews scattering into neighboring countries. Since the time of Jesus, the next diaspora was in 136 C.E. (A.D.)
The diaspora is mentioned in the New Testament by the writings ofPeter. In that case, if he was 20 years old at the time of the crucifixion, he would have to be at least 96 years old by the time he wrote the epistle. If this is the case, the Peter who wrote the epistle may not have been the same Peter who associated with Jesus. If he was 30 when Jesus was crucified, he would have been over 106 by the time the epistle was written. |
