Women in the Catholic Priesthood

The Catholic Church has threatened to excommunicate any woman who enters the priesthood, and anybody who participates in ordaining that person. The rationale given is that Jesus wanted male priests, because he chose exclusively male apostles. The Gospel of Mary Magdalene suggests that he may have had a 13th apostle.

A Dec. 09 USA Today article states that the Catholic church had women priests and bishops for 1,100 years, and only withdrew that privilege because they feard feudal lords taking their land. I was unable to properly post that as a link, due to some computer problems, but the URL is posted above, in "Women..." Do you find this valuable?
