Beatitudes -- for an alphabetical place to put it...
Nov 12 2007, 6:16 PM EST
Peter: Did you remember to bring lunch?John: Oh, sure. We've got a basket of fish and bread around here somewhere. Enough for the dozen of us. Peter: Well, 13, actually. If we've got say, three fish and a half loaf each, we ought to do O.K. John: Well, it's getting close, and the master's getting hoarse. He needs a break for a while. Peter: Did you notice? There are a thousand people here, and they knew they'd be here past noon, and not a one of them seems to have any lunch with him. John: Well, maybe they weren't hungry when they headed out after breakfast. Peter: That could be it. I hope they aren't expecting porta-potties. The guys can go behind the rocks over there, and the women can go over there. Just don't go near the place later on, right? John: Looks like the master is winding up his talk. We've got lunch, but what are they going to do? Peter: Well, let's ask the master. Maybe he can think of something. Do you think the next time we announce one of these things, we could put up signs reading, "Don't forget to bring your lunch?" John: Wouldn't be a bad idea. Do you find this valuable?
